Before the Trip!!!

Hello friends and family!! Here is a little more information about our site team trip!!

The Team:

*Katie and Tim not pictured*

The ROCK (Rapid Orthotics for CURE Kenya) Team has been working with Cure International's Orthopedic Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya to improve their prosthetic transfemoral and transtibial sockets, ankle-foot braces, and wrist splints. Last year, the team designed a system for 3D printing prosthetic sockets and taught the technicians how to use that system. Our team has worked all year to improve and test this system and expand its uses to other orthotics that the hospital manufactures regularly. Our trip this year (May 25th-June 9th) is to train the hospital staff on how to use the new software we have adapted to our system and how to make ankle-foot braces and wrist splits using the same 3D printing system.

While training technicians and making sure the software works is a big part of our trip this year we also have the opprotunity to build our relationship with the hospital and the employees who work there. Each of us are excited and looking forward to learning more and growing through our experiences in Kijabe!

We will be updating this blog daily during the trip so that everyone can see what we have been doing! Thank you for your continued support and prayers during our upcoming trip!!
