Alot of things were going on today! Thomas and Emma got to watch a spinal surgery, Dan and Erik worked on more AFOs, JR and Emma started training the technicians, Tim and Katie talked to Issac and Victoria (who work with clubfoot) about their clinical study they are planning, and Emily worked with a couple of physiotherapists!
Thomas and Emma were allowed in the operating room to see a posterior lumbar spinal decompression surgery. Emma left to assist in the training while Thomas stayed in the OR for the entire surgery (which was 5 hours!)
Erik and Dan worked on making more AFOs with the technicians. Emma and JR started the training with Purity and Simon. JR trained them on how to troubleshoot the printer and make a wrist splint. Emma trained them on how to make an AFO in the Omega software.
Katie and Tim talked to Issac and Victoria about the clubfoot clinical study that CURE is working on getting approved. They got to explain their research more and dicuss with Victoria about the anatomy and treatment of clubfoot. Emily stayed in the clinic and worked with physiotherapists some more!
An artist named Martin came to our house today and had beautiful oil paintings and banana leaf pictures, we were able to buy some of his artwork (artwork pictured at the top of post)! We have one more day of work tomorrow and then a 3 day weekend!!
